Master Your Life by Mastering Your Mind!

Imagine having the laser like focus to accomplish your wildest dreams.

Gaining this type of mental clarity and an improved memory is easier to do than what you may think! In fact, if you follow the instructions below on a daily or even weekly basis, you should start to notice dramatic improvements in no time at all…

Start with a Quick Brain Detox:

1. Brain dump. Use a pen and paper for the best results and write down everything that is on your mind. It doesn’t have to make any sense, just keep writing until everything is gone and you can’t think of another thing to write about. The first time you do this might take awhile, but the more you do, the less you’ll have to write about and the freer your mind will begin to become.

2. Go through your notes and list what thoughts are things to do or what things need to be let go of. Mark each one accordingly so you can either create a plan to get things done, or create a plan to let things go.

3. Make sure you are staying hydrated, it effects your mental prowess significantly. Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water each day for the best results.

Follow up with a Mental Reboot

Just like your computer needs to be rebooted from time to time, the subconscious mind needs a good reboot from time to time to get back to optimized levels of operating.

To do this:

1. Slow down, life is not an emergency. Start to take your time to consider what is most important to you and what you have actually been allowing to take over your daily thoughts, then gently return to the thoughts that will nourish your life and away from the ones that leave you feeling worried and/or resentful and/or fearful.

2. Take long walks, hot baths, meditate or just relax.

While you are consciously slowing your pace, take yourself out of your mind and experience what life feels like from the outside – the sights, sounds, physical textures, and tastes. You can experience these things without your brain keeping up an ongoing narration about it, so just let the thoughts float by and return from your head into the experience.

3. Let go of anything you can’t control. Spending time thinking and worrying about the past, or other people, places and things will not help you retrain your brain because you can’t control them anyway. Pay attention when you have those kinds of thoughts and let them go as soon as possible.

4. Stop trying to do so much. You can do anything you want; you just can’t do it all at the same time. So, choose three to five of your top priorities and let everything else go for awhile until you begin to feel you have become a better master of your thoughts. Not only will you be able to give your brain a break from trying to think of so much to do, it will allow you time to truly commit to that which is most important to you in life.

Note: A simple life can be rich and fulfilling, so allow these most important things to really fill you up while you allow your brain a much needed rest.

4. Address what you really need to be thinking about, but have been avoiding. Whatever you are procrastinating about is an open and ongoing program in your subconscious mind. These background programs will interrupt how effective you are in life no matter how much you are distracting your conscious mind from them. It helps if you make a list and set some goals.

When you have a list, you can allow your brain to stop holding onto so many thoughts. This might not be a fun and exciting process for you; it will pay off in huge rewards as you feel the mental burdens lifting.

Aftercare: Ongoing Mental Maintenance

1. Rest, exercise, eat well and drink plenty of water to rejuvenate your brain cells. Treat yourself to ample supplies of Omega 3 Fish Oil, blueberries, nuts and seeds to give your brain the nourishment it needs.

2. Practice mindfulness, meditate and also give your mind some time to just wander freely without becoming attached to what it’s thinking about.

3. Become more in tune with your intuition/higher self and allow that to become the core navigation system for your life.

If you stop to think about it, your mind can only think thoughts from past experiences, there is never anything new in there, so allow your mind to do the work of computing and allow the watcher of those thoughts to be your core guide.

4. Do what you say you are going to do and live a life of exceptional integrity. This takes a lot of moral dilemma decision making off the table. Plus, you don’t have to always be thinking of how to cover up lies.

5. Avoid getting caught up in:

  • Could-haves, would-haves, should-haves, and and if-onlys.
  • Speculations and trying to predict the future
  • Replaying conversations and situations over in your head, including ones that never happened
  • Watering down what’s most important in your life by trying to do, be, or have too much
  • Awfulizing and making things more catastrophic than they really are

6. Challenge your mind by playing strategy games, learning new vocabulary words or working through puzzles. Make these quick and easy so you can do them and not have additional longer projects on your mind.

7. Guard what you put in your head. You are what you eat and that is very true for what you feed your mind.

How you become the master of your own mind is what will determine the quality of the rest of your life. If you need help getting started, The Art of Meditation is my free gift to you and will help.
